Writing Through History and Wonder
Angelina Der Arakelian - Dennington is an award-winning author, poet, screenwriter, and journalist at The Armenian Weekly. Inspired by her Armenian and Lebanese heritage, ancestral memory, nature, spirituality, and the mysteries of time, her work explores the connections between history, identity, healing, and the unseen forces that shape our lives.
Her debut novel, A Week in Berlin, is a genre-bending historical fantasy and time-travel romance inspired by real events. Blending the Armenian Genocide with speculative fiction, the novel explores trauma, love across time, and humanity's enduring desire to heal the past. Its screenplay adaptation received the Best Sci-Fi Screenplay award at the World Film Festival in Cannes.
Angelina is also the author of the poetry collections When Moonlight Falls: Heartfelt Notes from a Curious Mind-Traveler, a lyrical meditation on life and existence; A Glimpse of Eternity, which blends existential poetry with science fiction; and The Blooms That Fall, an illustrated collection celebrating nature, transformation, and renewal.
She is currently working on her second novel, a mystery-infused work of spiritual women's fiction.
When she's not writing, Angelina can usually be found listening to the sounds of nature, reading, or immersing herself in the rich world of film.
